Sherry Summerville

sherrySherry has been singing and dancing since she was very young. Her background includes:  gymnastics and jazz dance. Jazz, pop, classical, and theatrical voice.

Sherry sang in the world famous “Soundsation” vocal jazz group from Washington. She performed all over the United States, Canada, and Europe.

She attended University of Portland and completed the 4- year program in performing arts and music education. She decided to put her student teaching on hold to sing professionally with the vocal jazz trio “EUPHORIA” and has performed and recorded professionally with Euphoria since.

While performing with Euphoria she has been featured at many jazz events such as the Mt. Hood Jazz Festival, Cathedral Park Jazz Festival, Edmonds Jazz Festival and the Bellevue Jazz Festival. Euphoria opened for the late jazz great Mel Torme’. Their CD’s have been played on KMHD radio station where they have also been featured guests on Mary Burlingame’s’ “Home Grown Jazz”.

She has been cast in many musicals including the lead roles: “Ginger Brooks” in 1940’s Radio Hour, “Val” in A Chorus Line, “Nancy” in OLIVER, and “Bunny” in Babes In Arms.

Sherry was a singer and dancer for Carnival Cruise Lines touring the Caribbean.

Sherry has been nationally certified through ACE (American Council on Exercise), AFAA (American Fitness Aerobic Association), NDEITA (National Dance Exercise Instructor Training Association), BTS (Body Training Systems), ZUMBA (Latin Dance), The Cooper Institute of Fitness – Special Populations.

Sherry has adjudicated and performed at many music, theatrical, and dance educational workshops and events.

                             Sherry is the Artistic Director for all competitive and performing teams. 

 

Rachel Park 

rachelparkRachel Park is currently attending Portland State University whre she is in the process of obtainings degrees in both business and dance. Rachel has been dancing since she was very young focusing on ballet, lyrical and traditional jazz.
This is Rachel's fourth year with Spotlight Performing Arts.  She is the driving force behind the success of  Spotlight Co. and Spotlight 2.

Rachel Instructs:  Pilates, Pre-Ballet, Creative Movement, Spotlight 2, Co-Coach of Spotlight Company. 


 

Sarah Anne Chmielewski

img_sarahSarah has a Bachelor's Degree in Women's Studies from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire and is currently seeking a masters degree in movement therapy. Her knowledge in the field of Women's Studies helps her to be a more effective dance instructor. "Our most essential and innate form of communication is through movement". With her degree in Dance from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire, she aims to reinforce woman's oneness with her body. "I believe dance may lift the spirits of women. "I truly aim to help individuals interested find health and deep inner-love". With her artistic and physical capabilities she hopes to help women discover health and deep inner-love. She believes they can do this through movement. Once women can finally be free to move, they can be who they are, have been, and will be again.

Timothy Dudley

Tim Dudley is the co-founder and choreographer for the performing Hip Hop Crew "Attentshon".  He has performed with the Hip Hop Company "Liquid Moves" and the Modern Company "A.L.D.".This is Tim's second season with Spotlight Performing Arts.

Victoria Kerr

Victoria came to us from the Parkrose area.  She was the dance captain of the award winning Park Rose High School Dance Team in 2008-09.  She has been dancing since she was four.  Currently she is pursuing a degree in elementary education.  Her love of dance and children is evident when she is instructing at Spotlight.
