We strive to offer the very best instruction of all performing arts, while instilling the appreciation, discipline, and knowledge required to excel in the chosen field. Our Instructors are carefully selected for their professionalism, preparation, skill, compassion, positive attitudes, attention to detail, and ability to translate their knowledge and passion to their students. Spotlight believes the team atmosphere fosters an unselfish approach to individual progression. We offer Ballet, Jazz, Modern, Lyrical, Tap, Hip Hop, Musical Theater and competitive team dance classes. We also offer voice lessons and group singing classes. Vocal students can participate in private or group lessons.  Theater classes include monologue, improvisation and musical theater classes. Students at Spotlight Performing Arts are given performance opportunities throughout the year.

It is our goal that every student gains the confidence, technical ability and performance opportunities necessary to advance to the next level. We provide our performers who desire to pursue a professional career, the technical foundation and inspiration to achieve their dreams.

AUDTIONS

Upcoming Auditions:

Spotlight Company, Lyrical and Hip Hop Crew, Boyz Crew, Competitive Team Auditions

For incoming 7th and 8th grade

Company - Contemporary Jazz.  This is the core competitive team.  Dancers must make the Company team to be on the Lyrical or Hip Hop teams.  The audition consists of learning a 1.5 minute routine that has elements of Jazz, Hip Hop and Lyrical in it.  All returning members must also perform a technique combination of elements they had been taught in the previous season(s).  The routine consists of three, 2.5 hour practices and then the actual audition on the 4th day in front of a panel of 6 judges. Candidates should complete and audition packet found at the Spotlight Studios or at the main office of any North Clackamas elementary or middle school. All lyrical and hip hop candidates need only indicate that they want to be considered for those teams on the application.
